Job Description: A server administrator is expected to perform high quality server system support to internal/external client for DXC data centers globally. Primary focus will be installing OS level patches for virtual and physical servers. The server admin will also be required to troubleshoot and resolve issues within the server downtime window. To be successful in this role, a candidate should be able to do server troubleshooting independent of direct supervision. Is self motivated and willing to work in a complex team environment. Server administrators interact in an enterprise corporate environment executing on processes that are interlocked with multiple other delivery teams.

UNIX/LINUX SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR RESPONSIBILITIES: * Daily monitoring of RFC changes & Implementation tasks * Troubleshoot security patching client issues * Daily automated security patching * Troubleshoot manually security patching * Upgrade operating system patches for HPUX, Linux servers * Manage the impact of RFC (Request for Change) requests on HPUX, Linux environment * Script patching deployments via PowerShell, Bash * VMware guest monitoring, memory, CPU & disk upgradation * Manage patching jobs for quarterly released patch levels on HPUX and Linux * Troubleshooting HPUX/Linux firmware, kernel upgrade issues TECHNOLOGIES: MUST: HPUX server operating system experience Linux server operating system experience Server experience both physical and virtual server (ESX and VMware) HP Service guard – cluster config, troubleshooting experience DESIRED: Shell scripting SKILLS: TECHNICAL SKILLS: * Experience working in a enterprise organization and or Large Data Centers * Use of enterprise ticketing systems & RFC handling (Service Now, HPSM) * Knowledge of how to connect and work on remote systems (SSH, console method) * Able to use Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel) * Able to use Video Conferencing (Microsoft Teams, Skype) * Basic Understanding of Scripting is a plus SOFT SKILLS: * Works well in a collaborative environment. * Problem-solver who can complete tasks without constant supervision. * Sense of urgency and can work within designated timeline. * Strong communication skills, both writing and verbal. EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management or related field OR years of applicable experience. YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: 4-Years
