Purpose









Responsible for the day to day support of the site operations applications with primary focus on Plant and Mine systems and applications. As part of this team will provide technology application products and services to support and drive operations strategic initiatives. Partner with operational teams and lead change management activities that have impacts on the operational application environment. Will help to the regional Subject Matter Expert (SME) in determining the most appropriate technical applications, technology initiatives, solutions and deliverables needed to enable open pit and underground mines and associated processes to achieve operational objectives.



Responsibilities 1



Primary support for critical production systems for Mine (Dispatch platform) and Plant Operations (OSI Pi), ensuring continuous operations of key applications and systems. Support the site operation applications (LIMS, DataMine Mine Market, data interfaces between systems, etc) and licenses to ensure end-user environments are effectively maintained and supported. Ensure the monitoring processes and procedures are applied to provide system availability according to agreed service levels. Close collaboration with corporate and regional mine technology support team to ensure major operation application providers are monitored to drive performance in support of site operation. Oversee and coordinate user acceptance tests on operation applications. Provide level 1& 2 support of all operations application across the sites. Apply Change Management (CM) procedures to all areas of the application environment and ensure that team strictly adhere to the CM procedures. Address issue escalations and provide resolutions swiftly and promptly. Work with operational users to analyze and improve current business processes and procedures. Train end users on new systems and processes.



Responsibilities 2



Manage and maintain the integrity of data interfaces (API’s) and logic to optimize dataflow. Manage the application migrations or databases across different platform. Works closely with the corporate Data & Analytics team to provide reporting solutions for the site operations teams. Provide a disciplined approach to change management ensuring testing procedures have been carried out prior to production rollout of change. Review existing systems and identify areas for improvement in the areas of scalability, maintainability, and performanceIdentify business process re-design opportunities and develop recommendations and action plans. Establish and maintain technology vendor and partner relationships. Investigate, review and recommend change to applications where appropriate and collaborate with stake holders to rollout approved enhancements. Collaborate with Corporate Operations Technology teams to ensure changes and recommendations made are in alignment with solution road maps. Collaborate and participate with industrial and academic leaders both inside and outside the mining industry to discover, implement and utilize value added, methods and/or technologies



Requirements

This is a position located in site location.



Position requires a moderate degree of site travel based on business demands.



Extended and unpredictable hours is the norm



Experience





- Four to six years progressively responsible experience in technology support

- Experience working with vendors, dealers, consultants and other contracted services.

- Directs the resolution of business problems applying analytical thought and judgment
