We are looking for a highly qualified Legal Counsel to oversee the legal aspects of our business in Mexico,Ecuador and Global Export & Anti-Counterfeit in our LAM region. You will safeguard our reputation by guaranteeing that the company strictly follows law guidelines and give legal advice to management about all relevant issues on Contracts, Compliance, Corporate, Litigation management and administrative support for legal matters.
Responsibilities on Mexico, Ecuador and Global Export legal matters
Review and manage contracts: review, negotiate, draft and secure signing of contracts.
Offer proactive and reactive legal counsel and guidance on a variety of legal areas, including commercial, marketing, corporate,
and manufacturing activities.
Provide or coordinate trainings to team members on important legal topics.
Specify internal governance policies and regularly monitor compliance.
Communicate and negotiate with external parties (regulators, external counsel, public authority etc.), creating relations of trust.
Deal with complex matters with multiple stakeholders in the region.
Provide clarification on legal language or specifications to everyone in the organization.
Conduct your work with integrity and responsibility.
Maintain current knowledge of alterations in legislation.
Provide Group’s Code of Ethics, and Anti-corruption policies and any other compliance related support including internal investigations and audits
Provide legal review of Finance, HR and supply chain functions' legal topics.
Responsibilities on LAM Anti-Counterfeit Matters:
Be an active partner to the BIC Anti-Counterfeiting Department, manage outside counsels in LAM and give full legal support as follows:
Responsible for identifying and managing administrative and criminal actions relating to intellectual property and trademark violations for all BIC® brands in LAM region.
Coordinate investigative efforts with Private Investigative Groups, Local Law Enforcement, Customs Agencies, and Corporate Attorney’s.
Preparation and database management of case reports covering investigative details and findings as well as identifying control weakness with recommended solutions.
Conduct regional trainings with Customs Officers and Local Authorities in LAM region.
Conduct internal trainings for the different team members related with Anticounterfeiting matters.
Lawyer Degree and admitted to practice in a country.
6-8 years of legal experience, preferably covering multi-national organizations and industry experience.
Good analytical skills, and decision-making ability.
Excellent communication skills in Spanish and English.
Strong integrity and business ethics.
A collaborative attitude, building strong relationships with all stakeholders.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and flexibility as well as the ability to work effectively in global cross-cultural and cross-functional teams.
Ensure accurate and useful reporting on matters worked on to the reporting manager.
Willing to travel.

· Proven and successful experience as a legal counsel in a business environment.
